Learn to ski on a mountain with history!

February 6 NG

Although Revelstoke Mountain Resort is relatively new (opening in 2007) our ski club is built on a foundation that goes back over a century—to 1891!

The Revelstoke Ski Club offers programs for young skiers ages 6 – 15. Our programs focus on the children’s safety while delivering a fun and exciting skiing experience. Register your children with the Revelstoke Ski Club this ski season and watch your child’s ski skills and confidence take off!

On-snow programs will start on the first Sunday of January. For children in the competitive programs, dryland training opportunities will begin in the fall and there will be Christmas Camps over the holiday season for almost all ages.

Revy Carvers

12 week program (kids born 2006-2012)

This is where a life-long love of skiing begins! These programs follow the skills progression developed by the Nancy Greene Ski League, which introduces kids to the fun of the sport and gets them on the road to becoming good technical skiers.

Revy Carvers combines lots of all-mountain free skiing with some gate training and fun exposure to race events. Kids in this program should be able to get their skis on and off, do a snowplow turn, and stop. If your child is not able to perform those skills, please register for a session of ski lessons through RMR’s Ski School.

Dedicated coaches, both professional and volunteer, ensure a perfect mix of fun, skill development, safety, and skier etiquette. Groups usually consist of 6 to 8 skiers and one dedicated coach. Parents of younger children are encouraged to occasionally assist the coach as a “tail gunner,” giving you a great opportunity to see firsthand what your child is learning.

January 7, 2017 to March 25, 2018

  • Sundays 9:30 – 2:30. Please have your children at the mid-mountain day lodge by 9:00. If you load the gondola by 8:45 you will be on time. Remember, children under 8 cannot ride the gondola without an adult.
      • Your coach will meet you at the signs posted at the bottom of the magic carpet. All groups will start their warm-up at 9:30
      • Instruction will be finished and the skiers ready for pick up between 2:15 – 2:45

Our volunteer coaches receive a well-deserved break at lunch and are not responsible for your children during this time. For younger children, please ensure there is an adult responsible who will assist your child to use the washroom, warm up their hands and feet and eat something during their lunch break. This will help in making the afternoon a positive experience for everyone!
  • Volunteer Requirement: 4 days or $200 (a post dated cheque is required by the beginning of the on snow sessions. Please date cheque for April 1, 2018)  ** First time club members are exempt from volunteer requirement.
